How to Design and Print Your Own Gift Tags

Whether wedding, Christmas or any special occasion, most of us tend to depend on ready-made gift tags.  What we don’t know is that we can actually design and print our own. There are many ways to do it and you will be amazed on how it will change and personalize the look of your gift tags.

 

How do I start?

 

If your computer doesn’t have any software that is capable of designing gift tags, then you can always look for a free software program from wide variety you can find on the internet. Once you find one, then download and install it. This program loads or stores your own borders and clip arts. You can type any message you want on your chosen gift tag and it will save automatically. If you want to make some changes on your designs or text messages, you can always open and save it again until you make up your mind on which one you like the best. You can print up to 10 gift tags for each page. Some programs require basic runtime files downloaded before you download and install the software. Also, if your computer is not able to download the software, there are available online printing sites that you can freely use with convenience. All you have to do is follow the instructions and you will find it very handy for designing your gift tags.

 

What are some tips on designing them?

 

If you want to be creative on your gift tag designs, most printing websites provide lists of layouts to choose from. This will help you personalize or customize your gift tags. You will have the option to change the shape or include a cover on it. These sites also contain what is called an image library. You can choose from different fonts and colors you can mix and then match. You can add different kinds of shapes to your design on the work area. Depending on whom you will give the gift, you can choose the color, shape and graphics of the layout into something you know that this person likes. Usually when you give it to a female, they love pink, light blue and other girly colors. However for men, you may want to think about black, red, brown or dark blue. If you don’t exactly know their favorite color, you can choose either one of these colors that is of course specifically for a male or female. But it is always your choice how you want your gift tags to look. These suggestions may guide and help those starters out there, or even those who are experienced in this kind of activity.

 

Once you have made up your mind on your design, then there is an option you can click which will bring you to its printing page. Before printing your finished design, view the provided instructions for printing. This is vital because some people use the front and back sides of the card when creating their gift tags, and in order not to mess up, you will need to follow the steps. Always remember to save your finished project before you close it. This is in order for you to have access on it later on, if you need to print some more gift tags or to change something on it.

 

If you have downloaded a software program intended for designing and printing gift tags, then it is easier, because they usually include easy instructions that anyone can follow. Some of them have the same procedures as the ones you find on printing websites, and others have different ways to do it. Depending on the features of the software you use, normally you can resize the graphics by dragging the handles on the image. You can also delete or copy an item.
